Making it's crazy debut in 2018, the TRIDENT half marathon combined the most difficult trails and hottest time of the year (can we say heat index of 105?) to bring runners an unmatched half-marathon challenge! We applaud all participants and, despite all the gritty elements, had an absolute blast in the #epitomeofsuffering.

  • What: 13.1 miles, 100% sugar sand, and 1,200 ft gain!
  • When: August 10th starting (yes, starting) at HIGH NOON!
  • Where: the "death valley" of Palm Beach County - Jupiter Ridge!
  • Why: for the epic unmatched challenge!
  • How: An unmatched love for sand and suffering will get you to the finish line in the 4 hour cutoff!
  • To be continued: 8/10/2019

Check out an awesome break-down of the TRIDENT course made by 2017 SandSpur Ultra finisher, Jupiter Running Girl!
Our race sponsors help to provide our racers with awesome schwag and help US give back to the community and Palm Beach County Environmental Resource Management! Thank YOU, Trident sponsors!

Who doesn't like SCHWAG?! In addition to the usual goods (bad-ass shirt, custom medal, killa time), TRIDENT finishers will be competing for the following:

  • First place overall: FREE race entry for Dunes 100 Ultra-Marathon!
  • First overall male/female: $100 gift card to TriBikeRun!!
  • Top 3 overall male/female: custom blown glass awards by local artisan Andrew Robins and Buffs from Orange Mud!
  • Top 5 male/females: FREE cryotherapy session from Frio Cryotherapy!
  • The esteemed "Jason Dupont DFL Award" - something extra special will be bestowed upon the person who suffers the longest, yet still finishes in sub-4 hours!

Race weekend deets:
All you want and need to know to have an epic weekend racing on the surface of the sun.
  • Wear LIGHT, preferably WHITE!
  • Gaiters keep the sand out. Since the course is 100% sand, this is a good idea!
  • STUFF. ICE. EVERYWHERE! Keeping your core cool is key to prevent heat exhaustion and heat stroke. All runners will get a buff - shove it full of ice and use it!
  • Keep your electrolytes up! Avoid just drinking water - this can lead to a very dangerous condition known as hyponatremia.
  • SLOW DOWN! Don't burn out on the first loop - on this course, slow 'n steady wins the race! And if you don't win, and come in dead last, there's a pretty sweet prize for that!

Due to very limited parking, ALL runners and volunteers will need to park at Ocean Cay Park in Juno Beach (north parking lot at Marcinski Road and Ocean Blvd) - map's below! A 15-seater shuttle will begin at 10:45am and run back and forth to the Ridge every 10 minutes. Please plan to be at the parking lot by 11:25 at the latest to get checked in and ready for our pre-race "briefing" prior to race start!
Packet pick up:
August 10th 4-6pm at TriBikeRun: 13975 US-1, Juno Beach, FL 33408

Bibs will also be available race day!
What do I need?
All runners must have a form of hydration - either handheld or pack. Although aid is plenty, it'll be HOT and hydration is key! **THIS IS A CUPLESS EVENT**
Runners are permitted 1 S. M. A. L. L. (duffle size) bag or cooler for the start/finish area.
Whatcha serving?
Aid stations will have the BEST volunteers and also be stocked with ice, water, tailwind, salt tabs, fruit (watermelon, oranges, bananas), pretzels, pickles, sunscreen, and bugspray.

All you need to know...
and more!

- One hydration device. This is event is STRICTLY cupless! We recommend at least 12oz. minimum.
Pre-Race Meeting:
- At the start/finish area at 11:45. We want every runner on site no later than 11:40. Please give yourself plenty of time to get parked and shuttle over.

- There is a strict 4 hour cutoff from the race start, which is noon. You must be leaving on your last lap by 3 p.m. or you will not be permitted to continue.

- We will have a finishers medal for everyone who finishes under the time limit, and the top 3 males and females will get a special hand made hourglass from Andrew Robins featuring real sand from the Trident course, and sand pine bases, also from Jupiter Ridge! We will have one DFL award, an antique trident from Nepal!

Other Tidbits:
-Race Directors reserve the right to pull anyone from the course exhibiting signs of distress above and beyond what would be considered “usual and customary” for this type of event. Your safety and well being is our #1 priority! We are working with a nurse to help with assessing runner conditions as the race is in progress.

-No pets at the race, please. If you are bringing spectators, please make sure they are aware of the hot and humid conditions, and also the presence of biting flies. They are responsible for themselves as aid items are for runners and registered volunteers only.
